Women are losing ground. This year's rankings state that the number of women on boards of Fortune 500 dropped by a half a percentage point.
Not surprisingly, the three companies that have high female represenatations are cosmetics/fashion: Avon, Estee Lauder and macys. 47 of companies on the S&P have no women on the board at all: 29 have all male boards plus no women among the highest paid executives. Uniform companyt Cintas is one all male bastion. And while lacking female board members, Urban outfitters at least has two highly paid women at the top.
