This International Women’s Day, March 8, the Global Connection For Women (GC4W) will host an International Women’s Day Awards Gala celebrating the accomplishments of women leaders. We are proud to announce VITAMIN W’s Founder and Editor Amy-Willard Cross as one of the honorees.
The gala, held March 7 at the Harvard Club in New York City, is honoring the social, political, and economic achievements of women leaders, while bringing attention to issues that need further action and attention.
"By recognizing these distinguished women leaders on such a momentous occasion as International Women’s Day, GC4W foundation hopes to not only bring attention to the key contributions these women are making to communities around the world, but also unearth that there exists ample opportunity for better advancements and equality for women," said Lilian Ajayi, the Founder and CEO of Global Connections For Women, in a statement.
Amy will be honored among women such as Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee, CEO of Gbowee Peace Foundation, and other women leaders and non-profit organizations.
VITAMIN W is included as a women-owned, non-profit media platform, donating a portion of our revenues to our nonprofit partners that advance women’s causes, and in particular, women’s participation in media of all forms.
Ajayi told VITAMIN W she is most excited about "celebrating the accomplishments of women in the global diaspora and recognizing the efforts of this year’s GC4W Global Women Champions. These incredible women exhibit the courage and commitment required to blaze a trail of success for the rest of us to follow. I also look forward to finding ways to collaborate in our separate mission and efforts — to empower women in greater numbers and further reduce gender inequality, especially in underserved communities across the globe."
