It's really important now that we talk about the reality of women in power, especially here in tech, and not keep reinforcing the negative stereotypes.
High heels function to differentiate women who can afford to be impractical with their footwear — both monetarily and in practice — from women who can’t. This, I think, is why the highest, spikiest heels are are the front of the shoe store.
There are hardly words to express the changes you’ve brought into my life, nor the deeper meaning that you’ve allowed me to see. Many of these women work and like it or not, this affects us all and for companies specifically, it impacts their bottom line. We can no longer ignore the impact violence against women takes on the economy. For example, the recent gang-rape case in New Delhi reportedly impacted productivity in several major cities.
