It's really important now that we talk about the reality of women in power, especially here in tech, and not keep reinforcing the negative stereotypes.

High heels function to differentiate women who can afford to be impractical with their footwear — both monetarily and in practice — from women who can’t. This, I think, is why the highest, spikiest heels are are the front of the shoe store.

There are hardly words to express the changes you’ve brought into my life, nor the deeper meaning that you’ve allowed me to see. When once I hardly gave a thought to all those mothers who came before me, now I see we’re all just links in a beautiful chain, daughter, mother, grandmother, and on forever, without end. thought my mom was a bad mother, and one day you will think the same of me.

This was a banner month for Israeli and Canadian women in politics. Recent Israeli elections saw all three parties led by women draw increased shares of the popular vote as well as more legislative seats, whilein Canada the election of Kathleen Wynne as leader of the Ontario Liberals suggests the phrase Madam Premier could become the new normal. These patterns are well worth celebrating.

In a 2012 survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 1 in 5 women reported being raped at some point in their lives. Many of these women work and like it or not, this affects us all and for companies specifically, it impacts their bottom line. We can no longer ignore the impact violence against women takes on the economy. For example, the recent gang-rape case in New Delhi reportedly impacted productivity in several major cities.
