Study Looks at Jewish Philanthopy Through New Lens

Debra Mesch, Zach Moore, and Mark Ottoni-Wilhelm of the Indiana University Center on Philanthropy have conducted a study that looks at Jewish philanthropic trends, with a focus on gender. As Jewish Ideas Daily reports, the study found that "[c]ouples with at least one Jewish member were about as likely as non-Jewish couples to give to religious causes, but the Jewish-member couples were a full 20 percent more likely to give to secular causes." Furthermore, "intermarried couples consisting of a Jewish wife and a non-Jewish husband were less likely to give than any other kind of household."
