From online bookstores and reading tablets to acclaimed novelists conversing on Twitter, the separate worlds of literature and technology have become more connected than ever. In honor of Black History Month, Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winning author Toni Morrison and Google Play have teamed up for a digital book signing of her 2012 novel Home. Taking place Wednesday, February 27 at 3PM ET, the event will take place on Hangout On-Air where the viewers can watch an intimate conversation between the author and select fans.
Questions marked by the hashtag #tonimorrisonhangout and offered by Google Plus users at the event page will also be posed to Morrison. The immediacy and accesibilty that the Internet provides audiences with has made even the most staunch book lovers warm up to new mediums, so the likelihood that bookworms and techlovers both partake in this unconventional signing is great.
